Warley
Park was constructed as an 18 hole course in 1973 and officially opened
in 1975. |

9 holes added

1977
|
Two
years later a further 9 holes were added making it the largest private
club in Essex at that time. The resultant 27 holes can be played as three
courses 1 and 2; 1 and 3; or as 2 and 3. |

Bobby
Locke, the great South African champion, visits the club

put 4 balls into the trees on the 24th hole, now known as 'Locke's Spinney' |

Tony
Jacklin pays us a 'flying visit'. He played our 27th hole, being the
last in a series of 18 holes played in one day by flying over 700 miles
to 18 different courses throughout the British Isles.

finished 4 over par on the most unique card in the history of golf. He
ended his round on our 27th hole at 6.20 in the evening with a four iron
off the competition tee achieving his par 3. |
